Poet and Narrator Chris Evans talks about the film 'Farmer Maggot of Bamfurlong' - As a boy, I bought in to the extraordinary tale that was The Lord of the Rings and always felt that I had an historical attachment to it. In the book there is mention of an area called Bamfurlong, the land is low lying and wet and is used by one Farmer Maggot for growing Mushrooms. In the book Bamfurlong abuts an area known as Buckland.
I have always thought that our Bamfurlong was Tolkiens and had an expectation that one day I might find the resting place of Farmer Maggot. I wonder...................
