An English Country Garden - Everyman Theatre and Wentworth Court Dementia Specialist Care Home (Corporate)
The Everyman Theatre and Wentworth Court Dementia Specialist Care Home designed 'An English Country Garden' as a project that could develop and run a series of creative arts workshops to inspire and engage young and older people together, by focusing on their interests.
It was open to all residents from Wentworth Court and 16 children from Hesters Way Primary School and used a whole team approach that allowed for both one to one and smaller group work, as well as full large group participatory activities.
The 20 workshops appealed to the senses and enabled participants of all ages to gain new insight into each other's lives and experiences, challenging stereotypes relating to age and disability.
Five Everyman Theatre practitioners led drama, music, movement, poetry and craft workshops in which both children and residents took part in.
